| Function / Rule | Explanation |
| Multiple search terms | Use multiple search terms to narrow down to get more specific search results. |
| Capital letters | No use in the search terms. All letters are treated as lower case. Example: 'Web Hosting' and 'web hosting' will produce the same result. |
| Common words exclusion | Common words, common characters and single digit/letter such as 'where', 'how', 'I', '5' etc. s are ignored in the query process as they only slow down the process without improving the search result. If such common word or character is required, add a plus sign (+) in front of it to include it in the search result. Example: 'world war +I'. |
| Word variations | Stemming technology currently used will make the engine also search similar or related words of the typed search terms when appropriate. |
| Use of phrase searching | For more specific results, use exact phrase searching by enclosing the search terms with quotes. Example "free web hosting". |
| Negative terms | Use minus sign (-) to exclude the related meaning of the search term from the query result. Example: '-used cars' will exclude all used cars from the search results. |
| Synonym search | Use tilde (~) character immediately in front of your search terms to include synonym search. Example: '~food' will also search for nutrition and cooking besides food. |
| 'OR' searches | To find pages that include either of two search terms, add an uppercase OR between the terms. Example: 'hotel london OR paris' |
